The Brazilian aerospace conglomerate Embraer just unveiled two private jets that offer remarkable improvements in range and style over their previous models, reports BI.
These jets, named the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600, are Embraer’s latest offerings in the mid-size and super mid-size private jet market.
“The Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 are the disruptive aircraft for the entrepreneur, for the pioneer, for the innovator,” Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano said in a statement.
The Praetor takes its name from a title given to high-level ancient Roman magistrates. It was chosen to convey that this jet is the ultimate servant of its owner. The Praetor 500 came from the existing Legacy 450, while the Praetor 600 is an evolution of the Legacy 500.
Embraer Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 Price Tag
Both the 500 and the 600 feature design cues from the brand’s current Florida-based jets. Add $750,000 to the respective prices tags of:
- Praetor 500- $16,995,000
- Praetor 600- $20,995,000
…and you can fly in the luxurious Bosa Nova interior, designed by Jay Beever, vice president of interior design at Embraer Executive Jets.
Praetor Jets’ Cabin Design
Beever said he drew inspiration from the beautiful beaches of Brazil to create the cabin’s design. The stitching pattern on the upholstery is modeled after the stone Ipanema walkways in Rio de Janeiro. The pattern in the carpeting is an abstract representation of water reflecting off of a calm sea.
The Praetor 500 can fly nearly 3,700 miles while the 600 boasts a range of 4,500 miles. This is an improvement on the range of previous models, and it comes courtesy of greater fuel capacity and a more efficient aerodynamic winglet design. Both the 500 and the 600 are powered by double Honeywell HTF 7500E turbofan engines.
The Praetor 500 can fly seven to nine passengers, while the 600 can take as many as 12.
